Requests
Q: When can I request a translation?
Translation requests are accepted on a limited basis. Please do not be upset if we cannot accept your request when you initially submit it. We have less time to accommodate the volume of commissions that we receive. If you make a request when we are not accepting commissions, we will not reply.
Q: I don't own this doujinshi, but I found it on a scans website. Will you translate it for me?
We do not translate from bootleg materials. Unless you have the actual manga/comic or doujinshi in your possession, we will refuse your request.
Q: Do you translate hentai? Yaoi?
We do not mind translating adult material. We will not reject a book based on content (hentai, yaoi, etc). The only thing we may reject are doujinshi with illegible handwriting or books where the artist did not properly adjust the bleed area and sentences are cut off at the edges.
Q: Will you translate a doujin I already own?
It is at our discretion whether or not we will translate a book that we are not selling or do not already own.
Please be sure to email us: the title of the book (if you can read it), the page count, genre, and artist/circle when you send your request. The more information you can send us, the more accurate the estimate will be. We will also need three sample scans to determine the text density.
If we accept your request, you will have to mail us the doujinshi you would like translated if we do not already own it. You must pay the postage to ship the book to us.
Q: Do you write in the book itself? How do you translate?
We do not write in the book or edit scanned images. You will receive a professional, typed transcript. We make every effort to make the transcript easy to follow.

Cost/Payment
Q: How much do you charge?
Our rate is $45/hour
This rate is for the translation of a Japanese doujinshi or manga into the English language. Excludes: novels, author's comments (preface, atogaki, maegaki, etc), advertisements for future work, and so forth. We only translate text relevant to the comic story. At our discretion, we may include a very brief summary of novel pages (if the novel is relevant to the comic).
Q: How many pages can you translate in an hour?
If you need a point of reference, the average thirty page doujin takes about an hour. Some books are more complicated or wordy than others. Complicated texts may take longer even if they are shorter than the average doujin (this is why we do not charge a flat per page rate). Handwritten doujinshi take a lot longer than doujin with typed text.
Q: Why don't you charge a flat rate?
Some books are more complicated than others. Charging a flat per page rate simply wasn't working for us.
Q: When do I have to pay?
Upon receipt of your invoice. ALL ESTIMATES MUST BE PAID IN FULL ACCORDING TO A WRITTEN (digital) AGREEMENT or we won't translate a single word. Asking for a translation is not the same as paying for one.
Shipping
Q: Do I have to pay for shipping?
Shipping is not included. Buyer must pay all applicable shipping costs. We will ship translations via USPS First Class Mail (domestic and international). If the translation is very heavy, it will ship via Priority Mail.
If you mailed a doujinshi to us, your translation and doujinshi will be returned via Priority or Express Mail. The buyer may choose which mail class to pay for when the invoice is sent. Rare/valuable books must be sent via insured mail.
We are not responsible for items lost, damaged, stolen, rifled through, misdirected, delayed, seized by customs or any other postal problem that may occur unless the buyer requests insurance.
Q: Will you mark the customs form as a gift?
Buyer is responsible for paying all applicable taxes for their state or country. We write the exact value of the item on the customs form and packages will not be marked as gifts. This is not negotiable. It is illegal to falsify a customs declaration.
